2011 Acura RDX Review

In current scenario customers are more specific about their vehicle selection. The selection is based on its looks, style, performance and luxury as well. Considering all these buying aspects Acura – The Japanese automaker is soon introducing a redesigned subcompact crossover SUV 2011 Acura RDX. 2011 RDX is a blend of SUV and the luxury sedan which is designed to offer satisfaction to any buyer of any age group and any kind of personality.

2011 Acura RDX is designed to give sharp and bold looks with 4 doors and a hatch back. The 2011 RDX will come in two trim levels. The grille front comes embedded with auto functioned headlamps. The side wings are designed with bigger wheel arches to accommodate a set of aluminium wheels with 10 spokes measuring 18 inches.

2011 Acura RDX gets its powertrain through the assembly of 2.3 liter turbocharge engine and four cylinder engine each cylinder associated with four valves which adds up to 16 valves. The engine is incorporated with computer controlled fuel intake technology also termed as i-VTEC which offers even better fuel consumption thereby enhancing its performance. Turbocharge engine with i-VTEC system further enhances the efficiency and acceleration at any speed. This assembly has the capacity to produce 240 horsepower at 6000 rpm and a torque of 260 lb.ft. at 4500 rpm. 2011 RDX comes with standard front wheel drive. This assembly works efficiently to give the better performance with 19 miles per gallon in city and 24 miles per gallon on highways and 21 miles per gallon in combined conditions. Higher trim level works on SH-AWD mechanism (Super Handling All Wheel Drive). This trim level gives the improvised mileage of 2 mpg in city and on highway over the base trim level. Mileage varies according to the maintenance level and driving standards. The latest RDX model gets its speed with 5 speed automatic transmission with sequential SportShift. This facilitates transmission to operate on conventional automatic mode. It can even be controlled by a paddle shifter located on steering wheel.

2011 Acura RDX offers lavishly designed interiors with luxurious leather wrapped seats. The rear row of seats can be flipped and flopped as it comes with 60/40 split capability to further increase the cargo floor upto 60.6 cubic feet. Additionally, various storage compartments are available all the interiors of 2011 RDX. The center console is mounted with movable tray which holds cards and coins. The dashboard is equipped with 8 inches voice recognition navigation system and a premium quality music system loaded with AM/FM and 6 disc changer and 7 speakers along with 360 watt amplifier. It is as well featured with CD player and iPod connectivity.

2011 Acura RDX has a wide range of safety features such as, cruise control system, vehicle stability control to offer better grip of wheels in slippery conditions, front and side airbags for driver as well as front passenger, side airbags and side curtain airbags incorporated all over the interiors of the vehicle to prevent internal collision, child safety seat is the added feature. The airbags are programmed with Occupant Position Detection System abbreviated as OPDS. The base model od 2011 RDX is featured with rear view mirror having auto dimming system whereas the higher version of RDX comes with a technology that displays the rear image on the screen of navigation system.
