2011 Toyota Prius Alpha – A Hybrid Van – Review

You were always wondering why Toyota Prius has to be only 5 seater. Why can not Toyota extend the same basic concept to 7 seater van ?

Toyota is extending the concept of 2011 Toyota Prius to a 7 seater mini van with 2011 Toyota Prius Alpha. As we all know most of the 7 seaters are gas guzzlers giving only 18 to 25 miles per galon. The scenario is going to change with the launch of 2011 Toyota Prius Alpha in the spring of 2011.

The 2011 Toyota Prius Alpha will have the same basic engine as the Toyota Prius 2011, with few differences. It will now have Lithium Batteries unlike the Toyota Prius. It will have an extra row to accommodate two more people. The length of the 2011 Toyota Prius Alpha will increase by a foot to accomodate the extra row.

2011 Toyota Prius Alpha will be heavier, which will mean that it will give less than 50 miles per gallon. It will still be much better than most of the Vans on the Road.

The Prius 2011 Alpha models will have the 1.8-liter I-4 engines – the same as those in the Prius models. The I-4 engine will generate 98 horsepower, and will use the Atkinson combustion cycle to bring the best efficiency.

It is expected that the 2011 Toyota Prius Alpha will have a price tag between $27000 to $28000. If you drive a lot on your van, the alpha may save you $1000 or so in a year on gas alone. And this is going to be most compelling reason for you to buy 2011 Toyota Prius Alpha.
