Acura TL was the 4th generation of Acura models launched in the year 2009. This has been Acura’s star models. Therefore, Acura is now introducing the refined design of its Acura TL known as 2012 Acura TL. It can be treated as a midsized family car as it offers accommodations of 5 passengers.

2012 Acura TL is labelled as luxurious model of its class. It is an intermediate model between its elder sibling Acura RL and the upcoming sports car TXS. Its front is furnished with the smaller grill compared to Acura RL. The stylish interior is designed for luxurious comfort. The latest Acura TL comes equipped with various standardized amenities like tilted power steering wheel to facilitate smooth drive, keyless entry, mechanised climate control system which offers comfort, dual-zone, stereo system with DVD,  audio as well as 6-disc changer enhanced with 6 speakers. Additionally, the dashboard is equipped with premium quality touch screen navigation system with voice recognition system, wireless mobile connectivity, and central locking to offer security while the car is in motion. The driver can experience comfort and can command over the vehicle while driving as the seat can be adjusted in 10 different ways. Even the front passenger’s seat is powered with four way heated seats and the power windows add up to the list of standard amenities. Acura presents the all new 2012 Acura TL with 4 years of warranty or upto 50,000 miles.

Moving through the car mechanism, it is seen that the engine is based on SOHC design. SOHC is nothing but the single overhead camshaft. The engine with this design has comparatively less weight than that of the piston design to offer good engine speed thereby improving the performance at the specified torque. The 2012 Acura TL works on the mechanism with 3.2 liter SOHC and 6 cylinders (V-6) engine to generate 270 horsepower in 6200 rpm and the torque of 238 lb.ft. at 5000 rpm. The engine is powered with 6-speed gear box with the facility of manual transmission system.

Fuel efficiency is the most important attribute of any car. Fuel economy is facilitated in 2012 Acura TL, as the vehicle has an all wheel drive mechanism as well as the 6-speed gearbox with manual transmission. The most important factor which offers fuel efficiency is the engine with SOHC design. The 2012 Acura TL offers satisfactory mileage of 20 mpg in cities whereas 30 mpg on highways.

2012 Acura TL offers the standardized safety factors featuring curtain airbags mounted on sideways of seats and front airbags to protect from internal collision, electronic stability control which offers traction on slippery roads, a latest version of navigation system with voice recognition and antilock electronic brakes for safety during emergency. The seats come equipped with seatbelts for each seating arrangement.

So far there is no information about fuel economy and pricing structure but it has been assumed that 2012 Acura TL will come with improve economy and with better price. We will update it later

Better fuel efficiency and improved performance of 2012 Acura TL can definitely impress the buyers. Therefore we just have to wait till mid 2011 for the car to make its appearance in the market. The car price is still a suspense with a possibility of it being unravelled in the near future.

Friend just leased Acura TL Base, not SH-AWD, yesterday. The car appears much improved in terems of its look. however, the ride quality is not smooth at all; rather rough/shakey. Consequently, the Base (non SH-AWD) seems to be not at all comparable to higher end brands like BMW’s 3 Series. If anyone else has a similar experience with the TL, I would appreciate knowing about it. Thanks for the review.
