Chevrolet family of General Motors is soon coming up with its redesigned architecture in Malibu series to be named as 2012 Chevrolet Malibu. General Motors has always followed its style of introducing the upgraded versions in its series with improvised features and enhanced performance. Maintaining the trend Chevrolet is planning to launch the upgraded 2012 Chevrolet Malibu by end of next year or beginning of 2012.

2012 Chevrolet Malibu is the mid size four door sedan based on the inherited Epsilon ll platform. The grille front is based on the design of Buick Regal with a trapezium shaped grille bearing a thick horizontal bar through its gist. The roofline will be somewhat articulated with a box like rear end and overall sleek body. It offers comfortable accommodation for 5 passengers with spacious leg room and better head rim furnished in leather upholstery. 2012 Malibu will get a bit larger architecture compared to its predecessors which has a direct impact on spacious interior.  The wheelbase is expected to get a standard measurement of 114.0 inches.

It is believed that the 2012 Malibu will get a hybrid mechanism. Which means car will used 3.6 liter V-6 engine as well as battery supported electronic mechanism for drive which will come associated with 6 speed automatic transmission. This mechanism can guarantee better fuel efficiency by improving the mileage by 50% compared to a vehicle with just a 3.6 liter V6 engine as the speed of the vehicle can be controlled while driving using electric motor. This mechanism is also termed as dual-mode mechanism which is unique for 2012 Chevrolet Malibu. The 3.6 liter V6 engine has the capacity of generating momentum of 255 horsepower with the troque of 265 lb.ft. whereas with hybrid mechanism it can produce 256 horsepower and a torque of 275 lb.ft.. Whereas, the base version will be comprise of 2.4 liter and 4 cylinder turbo charge engine. This will produce the momentum of 180 horsepower with the torque of 175 lb.ft and with hybrid mechanism the momentum will raise upto 190 horsepower with the torque of 190 lb.ft. The engine will work on front wheel drive but still it is not sure if Chevrolet will offer all wheel drive mechanism to its next generation Malibu.

As the release date is so far off we can just give a mere guess about the prices. Based on the current versions prices and the improvements to be incurred in the new generation 2012 Malibu we can speculate the base price to hang around $22.500 for the base model with 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine and can reach upto $30,000 for the higher version with 3.6 liter V6 engine.

General Motors is the master to stay ahead and offer classic quality luxury product for comparatively lesser price to offer tough competition with the midsize vehicles from other brands like Toyota, Ford, Honda etc. Therefore, 2012 Chevrolet Malibu can be set under affordable range of family friendly mid size sedans and offer the European styled sophisticated presence.
