Honda brand has been the star in the auto manufacturing world. The company has added sparkle with the introduction of a redesigned subcompact 2012 Honda Fit. The 2012 Honda Fit can be labelled as a subcompact car comfortably accommodating 5 passengers. It is believed that the 2012 Fit will retain the dimensions of its elder sibling with the slightly refined grille front and reformed bumpers.
2012 Honda Fit is designed with four doors and a hatchback lift with the capacity to accommodate 5 passengers with considerably big cargo space. The length of 12.5 feet would be retained with lavish wheelbase. Honda introduces Honda Fit in three trim levels – The Base Fit, The Fit Sport associated with navigation and The Fit Sport. The wagon is equipped with stylish sporty features like fog lamps, large alloy wheels and polished exhaust.
When we look through its mechanism, it is expected to possess 1.5 liter 4 cylinder motor capable of generating 117 horsepower and a torque of 106 lb.ft. The 1.5 liter engine is paired with 5 speed gearbox either in manual transmission mechanism or automatic transmission mechanism. The car engine works on front wheel drive technology to offer better fuel efficiency. Sport version will continue to work on 5 speed gearbox with automatic transmission mechanism. Also the sporty wheel arch will measure the same 16 inch in diameter whereas the base model will feature wheel arch measuring 15 inch in diameter.
The interiors of 2012 Honda Fit are intelligently designed to create spacious zone in subcompact cars. It is a five seated vehicle with considerably spacious cargo area. The original size of cargo space is 20.6 cubic feet which can be further increased upto 57.3 cubic feet according to demand. The rear seats are also regarded as MAGIC seats. This seat can be folded in two directions, it can be folded down or the complete seat can be lifted up to accommodate huge parcels. The rear seats have 60/40 split style. The dashboard is equipped with 6.5 inch voice recognition navigation system and digital audio card reader. It is expected that 2012 Fit will have wireless mobile connectivity. 2012 Fit comes equipped with standard amenities comprising of power windows, power locks, air conditioning system and a telescopic tilted steering wheel. Customer can get luxury options like automatic keyless entry, cruise control system, USB slot for iPod connectivity and steering wheel with leather cover with the sports model of 2012 Fit.
2012 Honda Fit is expected to offer a mileage of 27 miles per gallon on city roads and goes upto 33 miles per gallon on highways. Manual transmission mechanism facilitates the mileage of 28 mpg and the mileage of 35 mpg using automatic transmission mechanism.
Honda offers 2012 Fit base version with manual transmission at an estimated price of $15,900 and $16,700 is the projected cost of base model with automatic transmission. The estimated cost of 2012 Honda Sport with manual transmission ranges around $17,400 and $18,700 for automatic transmission. And the highest Sport model with navigation system is expected to hang around $19,300 and $20,000 with manual and automatic transmissions respectively. Though it is not the prettiest vehicle on road, it is the cheapest way to get into Honda. The 2012 Honda Fit is expected to hit the market around April 2011.
