The 6 cylinders are associated with 24 valves and DOHC technology. This technology facilitates proper usage of fuel by monitoring fuel intake and exit with the help of 2 valves to offer even better fuel efficiency. The engine comes paired with 5 speed gearbox with automatic transmission mechanism. Additionally, 2012 Sonata offers the choice between 5 speed manual transmission gearbox and 4 speed automatic transmission gearbox according to buyer’s requirement. This unique package provides satisfactory fuel efficiency by offering the mileage of 20 miles per gallon on city streets and 30 miles per gallon on highways.

Along with these attributes the sedan is equipped with standard safety features like trip computer to display various records like distance travelled, information about fuel consumption and average speed of the vehicle, cruise control system to monitor and maintain the speed of the vehicle, antilock brake system to spread the brake force electronically, electronically controlled traction control and stability control to maintain grip on slippery roads, 3 point seat belts for all the 5 passengers, front airbags and side curtain airbags spread all over the vehicle to protect from internal collision and very important child safety seat and anti-theft system.
