2012 Volkswagen Golf R Review and prices

Volkswagen one of the world’s largest German automobile companies, is presenting the latest version in its Golf series called 2012 Volkswagen Golf R.  It is said to be one of the best selling family car models in the world that accommodates five passengers.  It is the most vibrant engineering piece from Volkswagen.

The all new 2012 Volkswagen Golf R will come with more improvised features and bold design to stand with pride. 2012 Golf R will be gifted with two designs – manually operated 2 door hatchbacks being the standard design and also offers a choice of 4 door hatchback incurring an extra cost. It will come with sufficiently large wheelbase of 101.5 inches and an optimum cargo space of 12.4 cubic feet. The cargo floor can be further increased upto 46.1 cubic feet by folding the rear seats. The car will ride on a set of 18 inch aluminium cast wheels and 19 inch wheels set as an optional accessory. Additionally it will be equipped with dual exhaust pipe.

2012 Volkswagen Golf R is expected to be powered by a 2 liter 4 cylinder turbo charged engine with four valves affiliated with each cylinder to raise the momentum upto 266 horsepower at 6000 rpm and a torque of 258 rpm at 2000 to 5000 rpm. The 2 liter 4 cylinder engine will be associated by a 6 speed gearbox with manual transmission mechanism. Fuel tank will possess a capacity of 15.9 U.S. gallons. The engine with this premium grade combination would stand out excellently in the class of small family cars. The Golf R will be powered by an all wheel drive technology which offers better fuel efficiency.

As the safety of family is top priority while driving, the 2012 Volkswagen will feature a huge list of standard safety features such as front and curtain airbags and a set of front and rear head airbags will be provided to prevent internal collisions, antilock disc brakes as well as electronic brakes which will facilitate distribution of brake-force. All wheel drive mechanism associated with traction control system helps to split torque between the front and rear wheels as well as right and left wheels to maintain traction on bad roads. In addition to these the car will also be equipped with stability control system to maintain firm grip on slippery roads.

2012 Volkswagen Golf R will roll out with gracefully designed interiors and an option to choose sporty style seats which will be broad shouldered seats to give added comfort. The legroom and the headroom are believed to be comfortably spaced. Dashboard shall be equipped with voice recognition navigation system, air conditioning system and a music system with disc changer. The car will be furnished with R styled electric power steering wheel with flat bottom to facilitate smoother drive.

2012 Volkswagen Golf R will be available in the U.S. market by mid of year 2011 with a competitive price of around $32,500 for two door hatchbacks and some more for a four door hatchbacks. The buyers will need to have early numbers in the queue to lay their hands on such an elegant model as the edition will be limited to a production from 1,500 to 3,000 units.
