Acer AS5253-BZ684 is a 15.6 inch notebook that comes with AMD’s dual core E-350 APU or the Accelerated Processing Unit. The APU is the new term started by AMD to signify the chip that is formed out of the fusion of the processor and the graphics components. So far, the processor used to come as a separate component and the graphics used to be a separate discrete component. The newest trend in the design has been to merge the two components in a single chip. AMD has come up with Zacate and Ontario APUs for entry level notebooks. Intel has shown the same merger in its Sandy Bridge processor.
