AMD Athlon II Neo K325 targeted for the high end embedded computing. However, we also find them in several netbooks and small notebooks.
The nominal operating frequency of the AMD Athlon II X2 Neo K325 Dual Core is 1.3 GHz and it has two cores. The Athlon ii Neo K325 has a total L2 Cache of 1 MB. Built on the 45 nm technology, the Neo K325 has a power rating of 12 W. The low power envelope helps in the design of fan less systems.
The Athlon ii K325 has Integrated DDR3 memory controller. The communication to the chipset is using the HyperTransport Bus.
The AMD Athlon II Neo K325 Dual Core processors are BGA ( Ball Grid Array Processors) processors, which means that these are directly soldered into the motherboard. You can not just take these out from an existing motherboad and replace them.
According to AMD – “addition of these new dual-core processors to the ASB1 BGA platform can help increase the performance of existing single-core designs” .
The AMD Athlon Neo X2 ASB1 dual-core processors have Error Correcting Code (ECC) capability. The Error Correcting Code Capability enhances the reliability and enables secure data transactions.
