AMD Athlon II X2 250e processor is the new Athlon ii Series processor from AMD intended  for the Desktops. The AMD Athlon II X2 250e is a dual core processor with operating clock frequency 3 GHz.

The model number is 250e and CPU part number is AD250EHDK23GM for this processor whose box part number is AD250EHDGMBOX. The stepping code of AMD Athlon II X2 250e processor is NAEGC AE. The Bus speed for the memory controller is 533 Mega Hertz and the bus speed for the 16 bit hyper transport link is 2 Giga Hertz. The processor has 938-pins altogether and it is an organic micro-PGA type processor.

AMD package number for this processor is 30412, The socket type supported are  Socket AM3. This was launched in the month of September in the year 2010. The cost of this processor during the launch was dollar 77. The processor core is Regor processor core and the core stepping is c3. The manufacturing process used for the fabrication is 45 nano meter lithography technology, which has fabricated 234 million transistors inside this processor. This is a dual core processor whose data instruction width is 64 bits. There is an integrated floating point unit in the processor itself.

There is a level 1 cache of size 256 Kilo bytes of which each core uses 64 Kilo bytes as instruction cache and another 64 kilo bytes as data cache. There is also a level 2 cache of total 2 mega bytes available of which each processor gets 1 mega bytes. The cache latency value for the level 1 cache is 3 and the latency value is 15 for the level 2 cache.

There are many low power features that are implemented in AMD Athlon II X2 250e processor¬† they are namely Cool’n’Quiet 3.0 , Dual Dynamic Power Management, C1E states Package S0, S1, S3, S4 and S5 states and CoolCore Technology Core C1. There is an integrated memory controller which can work with either DDR2 or DDR3 RAM and also there is a Hyper Transport 3 technology which implemented with Hyper Transport Link. The Maximum Thermal Design power is 45 watts, the maximum temperature up to which it can operate is 72 degree Celsius and The Voltage of the core varies from 0.85 volts to 1.4 volts. This processor is best fit for personal computer at home the cost of the processor is lesser given its performance.

AMD Athlon II X2 250e Pros – Two cores, Fast 3 GHz, Low 45Watts TDP (desktop), Inexpensive

AMD Athlon II X2 250e Cons – Only 2 MB Cache.

No benchmark result is available at the time of writing for AMD Athlon II X2 250e. It is planned to be updates as soon as the numbers are available
