AMD Athlon II X2 265 processor Review
AMD Athlon II X2 265 processor is the new processor that AMD has launched in 2010 during the month of September. There are totally 938 pins in this processor, this is basically designed for desktop needs. The processor number of this is 265 and this belongs to the AMD Athlon II X2 family. Operating at a clcok frequency 3.3 GHz, AMD Athlon II X2 265 processor bears part number ADX265OCK23GM, the part number for the box being ADX265OCGMBOX. There is an on chip memory controller, which can work at a processing frequency of 533 Mega Hertz. The processor fill fit in the motherboards supporting socket AM3. The cost was approximately dollar 76 during the launch – making it one of the best processors under $80. This is built using the Regor processor core which uses the C3 stepping mode. Built with 45 nm lithography,AMD Athlon II X2 265 has a Level 2 cache of 2 Mega with 1 Mega byte in each of the two cores. There is also a level 1 cache of 128 kilo bytes for instruction cache and 128 kilo bytes for data cache. Each core uses 64 kilo bytes of instruction cache and 64 kilo bytes of the data cache.
AMD Athlon II X2 265 processor is a dual core processor which has an integrated floating point processing unit. 234 million transistors are used to build this processor, thanks to the IC technology the die size is only 117.5 square millimeters other wise it will be bulky. SSE, SSE2, SSE3 and SSE4A are the Instruction set extensions that are supported by this processor. Advanced Bit Manipulation technology and Enhanced Virus Protection technology are incorporated in this processor. AMD64 technology which provides the user the feel of 64 bit computing is available in this processor and also AMD-V (virtualization) technology is also implemented which allows co existence of multiple operating systems. AMD Athlon II X2 265 processor can work in environment where the temperature is 74 degree centigrade. The maximum thermal design power consumed by AMD Athlon II X2 265 processor is 65 watts. AMD Athlon II X2 265 processor is compatible with most of the graphics cards available in the market and thus it makes it easy to get good graphic games and applications running smoothly on this processor. Low power features like CoolCore Technology, Dual Dynamic Power Management and Cool’n’Quiet 3.0 are implemented in AMD Athlon II X2 265 processor, thus it if fine tuned to provide maximum performance by consuming less power.
Here are some Quick Cons and pros
