The Athlon II X4 615e is a quad core processor from AMD that has a nominal clock frequency of 2.5 GHz. It heats less ( has a TDP rating of only 45 watts), which is what makes it suitable for the applications like All in one PC. The four core makes it a fast processor, especially in t he multiprocessing environment. The AMD Athlon II X4 615e has 512 KB of L2 cache with each of the four cores. The integrated memory controller in the AMD Athlon II X4 615e makes the communication with the memory fast.

Key Features at a Glance

– Quad core processor, Clock frequency 2.50 GHz
– Low TDP rating at 45 Watts
– L2 Cache – 512KB x 4 ( total 2 MB)
– Fits in AM2+ and AM3 sockets
– Integrated memory controller
– Communication with chipset using HyperTransport Bus – 2 GHz

Belonging to the energy efficient Propus group, the low power and the moderate cost makes this processor find its entry in many PCs and All in one desktop PCs. The Integrated memory controller is another distinctive feature of the 615e besides it low power consumption. With the integrated memory controller, the processor will communicate with the memory directly. The faster memory communication, partly makes up for the missing L3 cache.

Built with 45 nm technology the AMD 615e supports the 64 bit technology and AMD virtualization technology.
