The AMD’s Phenom ii P820 is a triple core 1.8 GHz processor which we can assume to be competing with the Core i3-330M – dual core. 2.13 GHz processor from Intel. The Table below compares the performance of the triple core Phenom ii P820 Vs Core i3-330M.
| Benchmark | Phenom ii P820 | Core i3-330M |
| Super Pi 2M | Not Available | 50 seconds |
| Windows 7 Benchmark | 5.4 | 6.2 |
| Pass Mark Score | 1680 | 1947 |
| 3D Mark 06 CPU Score | 2030 | 2200 |
Clearly the Intel’s Core i3-330M is leading in performance over the Phenom ii P820, even though the Phenom ii P820 has three cores. While Phenom ii may catch up a little bit in multi processing environment, the lower clock frequency does not work in its favor. It may be more apt to compare the big brother Phenom II P830 , the 2 GHz part with Core i3-330M.
Besides the benchmark, you may also like to note that the Core i3-330M comes with integrated graphics unit, which helps in lowering the system cost by not requiring any additional graphics component.
