If we consider the passmark score, then on absolute level, the Intel’s core i5-2500K seems to be better. However, we may like to take into account the prices of the two processors. At the time of writing the Core i5-2500K has been priced close to$27 more than the AMD. Given the price performance ratio, the two processor stand about the same, give or take a bit here and there.
There is some advantage with the Core i5-2500K in the overclocking area. The processor has been found to be easily over clockable all way to 4.8 GHz and with some advanced cooling even beyond that. So, if overclocking is your aim, core i5-2500K will be recommended.
