AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Vs Intel Core i7-2600K
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Vs Intel Core i7-2600K by Starred Reviews
The main charm of the Intel’s Core i7-2600K seems to be its ability to get overclocked significantly above its base clock frequency. And this significantly outperforms the Phenom ii 1090T.
BUT – the core i7-2600K is way too expensive – $314 at the time of writing at amazon, as compared to $187 for AMD’s Phenom ii X6 1090T.
The Phenom ii X6 1090T will also fit in your existing (low cost ) motherboard supporting the AM2+/AM3 socket. In the end you need to decide if you are willing to pay the extra $125 or so for the performance. The extra $125 should not be a big deal, in case you need the performance that Core i5-2600k delivers.
