ASUS Eee PC 1015PED Review and Price

ASUS decided not to stop itself from releasing new Eee PC models. The reason is very clear. Every other PC makers are releasing new models now and then and to survive in the market ASUS has to compete with its competitor. ASUS Eee PC 1015PED is its latest addition to netbook segment. You can buy it by investing $380 ( Amazon) and it is available in 4 colors- blue black red and white.

ASUS Eee PC 1015PED-P, the higher specs of 1015PED  is equipped with Intel Atom N475 processor which is a single core processor and can perform 2 threads simultaneously. The N475 processor clocked at 1.83GHz. It supports both DDR2 and DDR3 memory. However, ASUS Eee PC 1015PED comes with 1GB DDR3 memory. One can extend it up to 2GB which is the max support. However the base model that is ASUS Eee PC 1015PED-M comes with Intel Atom N455.  The main difference between N475 and N455 is there clock speed. N455 clocked at 1.66GHz

The processor package includes Intel GMA 3150 graphics which is suitable for basic works for browsing, writing etc. You can’t play games or perform power demanding tasks.

The screen size of Eee PC 1015PED is 10.1” and it is LED display. The WSVGA anti-reflective display has 1024 * 600 screen resolution.

The storage includes 250GB hard drive space. ASUS 1015PED provide 500GB web storage as well; one of the notable feature of this netbook.

It supports both wired and wireless networking. The wireless support includes 802.11 b/g/n wifi along with Bluetooth 3.0 support.

The netbook comes with 32bit windows 7 Starter Operating System

Other features include 0.3 megapixel webcam, 3 in 1 card reader, 3 USB 2.0 port or you can choose 2 USB 2.0 and 1 USB 3.0. However, depends upon vendor as well

ASUS Eee PC 1015PED is provided with 6 cell battery which claimed to give 10 hours of battery life.

The keyboard is full-sized chiclet style and is covered within a smooth matte finished chassis, so no worry of catching fingerprints.

It is well known that ASUS Eee PCs are recognized for prolonged battery life. ASUS Eee PC 1015PED is not an exception. Good for student and mobile person because they need long battery life. It has optional USB 3.0 which is good for rapid data transfer. It can perform basic tasks very well. However if you love to play games or editing videos this is not suitable for you even old games can pressurize processor as well as graphics.
