We have already reviewed Asus latest netbook, ASUS Eee PC 1016p. When ASUS announced about Eee PC 11016p at the same time it made announcement of another Eee PC that is ASUS Eee PC 1018p which belongs to 10.1” display family as well. Now let us see what the netbook has to offer.
Specification of ASUS Eee PC 1018p
ASUS 1018p Eee PC comes with two choices of processor, there is a model Asus Eee PC 1018P-PU17-BK which comes with Intel Atom N455 processor while higher specs of 1018p ASUS Eee PC comes with Intel Atom N475 processor. Both are single core processor and having 2 threads but the clock speed is different in both cases. Intel Atom N455 clocked at 1.66GHz while Intel Atom N475 processes at 1.86GHz.
The ASUS Eee Pc 1018p equipped with 1GB DDR3 RAM. One should keep in mind that max RAM support of the 1018p netbook.is only 2GB. In my previous ASUS 1015PED review I mentioned that both N455 and N475 processor package comes with Intel Graphics, Intel GMA 3150 which not suitable for power demanding jobs like gaming, compiling etc. However, elementary task can be done with help of the processor and graphics it comes with. There is no details about graphics; neither in ASUS website nor in Amazon the details of graphics have been mentioned.
When comes to storage ASUS 1018p comes with 250GB HDD space and 500GB web storage.
Operating system is similar to ASUS 1015PED that is Genuine Windows 7 Starter
The netbook weighs approx 1.1Kg. The 4 cell battery of ASUS 1018p provides 9 hours of battery life
Connectivity features include 3 USB 2.0 , you need USB 3.0 then it is available on optional basis. The netbook comprises of inbuilt 0.3 megapixel webcam, VGA Port, 3 in 1 card reader, WLAN 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0+HS

Features of ASUS Eee PC 1018p are similar to 1015PED. There are no significant changes you may observe. At $527.80 it available in Amazon which seems little seams expensive. The reason is the specification of ASUS Eee PC 1018-PU17-BK has no USB 3.0 port. You may get a notebook from Acer with same price and much advanced feature. However you might not get the long battery hour.
