AVG Antivirus Software Update and Toolbar Disable

AVG Antivirus is a decent free Anti Virus Software that starredreviews.com recommends in conjunction with the Spybot Search and Destroy to keep your computer free from Most of the Virus and Malware.

AVG Antivirus however, occasionally installs the update of the software. While it is perfectly fine to install the update, it is recommended that you do not install the toolbar, to save some space in your browsing area. When you are trying to install the update ( or possibly a new install ), it will prompt something like this.

At this stage uncheck the two boxes if you do not want the the toolbars to be installed. You may also like not to have AVG search as your default search engine. It make make more sense to make bing or yahoo search you default search engine.

Take a look at how the tool bar looks like once you have installed the AVG anti virus toolbar.

The Toolbar eats up a whole lot of area in the browser, without offering much advantage. This is true for most of the toolbars that eat up the browsing area. Install only those toolbars that YOU initiate and YOU think you need it, not when prompted by any software installation.
