In the previous post, we had compared the specification details and some comparison of the Core i3-350M with the Pentium P6200. Let us now compare the benchmark scores of these two processors.

Core i3-350M Vs Intel Pentium P6200 Benchmarking Comparison

Benchmarks Core i3-350M Intel Pentium P6200
PassMark CPU Mark Score 2057 1668
Super Pi 2M 46 seconds 46 seconds
3D Mark 06 CPU 2370 1950
Windows 7 Experience Score 6.4 5.8

Here are the same results in terms of the horizontal bars.

PassMark CPU Mark Score Benchmark

Core i3-350M 2057
Intel Pentium P6200 1668

Super Pi 2M Benchmark

Core i3-350M 46 seconds
Intel Pentium P6200 46 seconds

3D Mark 06 CPU Benchmark

Core i3-350M 2370
Intel Pentium P6200 1950

Windows 7 Experience Score Benchmark

Core i3-350M 6.4
Intel Pentium P6200 5.8

Clearly, these results indicate that the core i3 is better than the Pentium. There are mainly two factors that work in favor of the Core i3 – the Hyperthreading and (marginally) higher clock frequency.

Newer Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge processors have further improved the performances and have significantly improved the integrated graphics performance.
