Intel core i7-2710QE processor

January 31st, 2011 No comments

The Intel core i7-2710QE belongs to the Sandy Bridge processors and is clocked at 2.1 GHz. If you have followed the Sandy Bridge architecture, you will know that, the best performance improved has been in the area of the Integrated graphics controller. The graphics controller works at comes with Integrated memory controller works nominally ar 650 MHz and does support turbo function similar to the main processor. The turbo frequency of the graphics unit can rise upto 1.2 GHz. Here are the major characteristics of the Intel core i7-2710QE.

Number of cores = 4
Nominal Clock frequency – 2.1 GHz
Turbo Frequency – 3.0 GHz
L3 Cache – 6 MB
Graphics Nominal Frequency 650 MHz
Graphics Turbo Frequency – 1.2 GHz.

Notice that the turbo frequency of the CPU and the GPU depends upon the TDP rating of the processor which stands at 45 Watts. If there is more demand in the processor unit and no demand in the graphics unit, only the CPU will go in the turbo mode. If you are playing a high end game requiring more demand in the graphics processing power, the graphics turbo will come into action, while the CPU will stay in the non turbo mode.

Another impotant feature is the new Turbo technology, which promises to bring further improvement in the turbo performance. Intel observed that the Neehalem processor were still cool with the turbo, so the extended the time period for which the processor could run on turbo.

You will find the integrated graphics performance really something to take serious note. The Intel’s HD Graphics 3000, the name given to the graphics integrated in this Sandy Bridge processor is of the order of 125% faster than the previous generation integrated grahics in the Nehalem based mobile processors.

The CPU as well as the GPU is has for the first time been integrated in a single die built at 32 nm, unlike the previous generation architechture, in which the CPU was built with 32 nm while the GPU and the integrated memory controller was built with 45 nm technology. In the long run, we expect that the production cost for Intel should go down and we can expect better performance per dollar spent. Since the systems built with Sandy Bridge processor “may not” need an external discrete graphics component we can expect reduced cost system while keeping the performance moderately good with the Intel core i7-2710QE processor.

Another area to be noted is the improvement in the DDR frequency with the Intel core i7-2710QE. The new max configuration supported is DDR3-1600 in addition to DDR3-1066 and DDR3-1333

Get Ready To Have a Tour of the Ancient City of Athens

Athens has history that is older than 3000 years, which started when its inhabitants settled on the rock of acropolis. Not before hundreds of years did the rock find its true glory. Pericles 495 – 429 BC got constructed the magnanimous monuments like Parthenon along with the help of the great architects Iktinos and Kallikrates and the Sculptor Phidias. Athens has its time of decline and glory in those thousand years and finally in 1834 it became the capital of Greece, thanks to its locations as well its historical importance. Now we know it as a modern European city which also hosted the last Olympic Games quite successfully. This new structure of Athens developed speedily in the last decade. It has now highways, a new airport, several new metro lines, tram lines, new railway shopping centers stadiums and what not.

Talk about Athens and forget about acropolis, it’s not really possible. Who has not heard of the shrine of Democracy the Acropolis that rises above the city of Athens where you can truly smell the art and culture of the ancient city in the air. In the midst of all the artistic and achievements of Athens marble Parthenon stand high in the acropolis. . The Parthenon, in prehistoric times had the job of holding the several temples to the goddess Athena, including temples to Artemis, Brauronia and Zeus. The area that surrounds acropolis was used for all kinds of events like theater, ritual acts as well as sacrifices and many other traditions of Athens.

Plaka another tourist attraction was also called by the early Greeks as the neighborhood of the gods. Anafiotika is a must see area just over Plaka and under Acropolis to the east. Anafiotika is like a small island within Athens, builders from the small island of Anafi build their traditional white washed houses in the tiny winding streets and steps of this area when they were building the royal Palace. The palace today is the Greek parliament and right in its front is the parliament square, also called in Greek as “Plateia Syntagmatos”. Next to the Parliament are the National Gardens and the Zapeion exhibition hall. Not far opposite Zapeion are the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Hadrian arch. The Panathinaikon stadium where the first Olympic Games took place located a few minutes’ walk through the National Gardens or through Zapeion.

The choice of hotel in Athens reflects the kind of visit you are paying to the city. Usually travellers on their own generally prefer a hotel in the city centre (Syntagma, Plaka, Columns of Olympian Zeus, Makrygianni) or around the perimeter of the core traffic zone (Syngrou, Alexandras, Michalakopoulou Ave.), so as to be near the most important sites. Within this area there are hotels for every purse: from luxury to conventional to tiny guesthouses (mostly in the Plaka district). Those who come to Athens on business for longer periods of time prefer the luxury service apartments, found both in the centre and in the northern and southern suburbs. The new airport and the Attiki Odos generated a need for hotels near those areas. Finally, the seaside hotels attract those who want to combine easy access to the city and the airport with a few days holiday by the sea.
