Dell has come up with better redesign in its Inspiron series, Dell Inspiron 14R.  The new Inspiron 14 R comes with completely new looks and good power. It is one of the most versatile laptops.  The laptop features equilibrates its cost. It is a sleek model with glossy top. It comes in six colors other than Obsidian black. The six colours comprises of Cherry red, Pink, Ice blue, Passion purple, Gecko green and Alpine white. The laptop can be customized by choosing the desired configuration as well as the colour to obtain the unique device. Some choices add up the cost while some helps to reduce final cost. The laptop comes with 64 bit Windows 7 operating system.


Dell Inspiron 14R laptop is furnished with moderately sized 14 inch LCD screen with a full size keyboard mounted with adequate sized keys to give comfort while typing. It possesses 3.8 X 2 inch touchpad. The display offers the resolution of 1366 X 768 pixels with good colour contrast but with limited view angles. On the top of the screen is the embedded 1.3 megapixel webcam. The webcam can be utilized to take snapshots or record videos.

The laptop is equipped with 2.7 GHz Intel Core i3-350M processor and a hard drive possessing the capacity of 320 GB and 3 GB RAM power which can be upgraded upto 6 GB of RAM with Integrated 1 GB ATI Radeon HD 5470 graphics card. Inspiron 14R also offers second option of 1.86 GHz Intel Pentium P6000 processor and a hard drive having capacity of 320 GB and 3 GB RAM also has integrated graphics. This configuration is most suitable for SOHO. The configured memory gives ample power to support the applications like video conferencing, multimedia, pictures and basic gaming with ease simultaneously.

Inspiron 14R has embedded VGA port, 2 USB, a USB/eSATA, HDMI, Ethernet, headphone and mic. It also has the provision for 3 in 1 digital card reader. All these ports except VGA and one USB are aligned on either sides of the device. The VGA and USB ports are placed at the back.

Dell Inspiron 14R is powered by 6 cell battery power supply with 9 cell as optional. The battery lasts for 3.12 hours on an average.

The laptop is pre-installed with Skype and Roxio burn as well as few trial applications like Photoshop elements on 30 days trial, Antivirus from McAfee Security Center on 14 days trial period, 2 GB of Dell datasafe which is used for online storage on a trial period of 12 months including Microsoft office 2010.

The lower version of Inspiron 14R with 1.86 GHz Pentium P6000 processor with 3 GB RAM has the base price of $549 whereas the upgraded configuration version comes with a base price of $859.

Dell Inspiration 14R offers the international warranty of one year.

Dell Inspiron 14R has the weight of just 5 pounds which can be easily carried in any backpack. This model with strong performance is best suited for students.
