Difference between QPI and DMI
The DMI and QPI are the intel’s bus interfaces used to connect the processor to the chipsets. The DMI bus stands for Direct Media Interface and QPI stands for Quick Path Interconnect.
The DMI and the QPI interconnects are used in the latest intel core i3, core i5 and core i7 processors. While the DMI bus is used in the mainstream notebook and desktop processors, the QPI bus is used in higher end processors including core i7 ( for example core i7-930 ) processors.
