Ezinearticles.com and 2011 Frebruary Google Algorithm Update
The February 2011 Google Algorithm change was one of the most significant change in the history of google algorithm update. Its effect was widespread felt. If you are unbiased you will really appreciate the way google has made changes – at least tried to clean up the mess that .
Unfortunately some website owners have reacted angrily and negatively to the google’s latest effort to clean up the system. Ezine Article was negatively affected and, as a knee jerk reaction, it immediately implemented the nofollow attribute to for all of its link.
Unfortunately, ezinearticle is not understanding the real problem. The real issue is not the dofollow or the nofollow links. The real issue is the purpose and the quality of the articles. The ezinearticle and many other similar content farm article sites were bound to go down one day.
The real issue with the ezinearticles is that the contents stay in isolation, disconnected from other articles. They exist in isolation.
What ezinearticles should do
The knee jerk reaction is not going to help ezine. People who have contributed to ezine articles, felt cheated. Most of them are no more going to post to ezinearticle anymore. With the source of new articles drying up, ezinearticles could see further drop in traffic.
A better model of ezine articles will be to restore the do follow link with immediate effect. This will restore the confidence of the writers. And then, ezinearticles should ask the writers, not to write just one articles. A writer must write 10 articles on one particular subject. These 10 articles should be interconnected and coherent. These will be placed in 10 different pages. The writer may be allowed to place links, in say, 4 of them. An independent editor will post these 10 articles and interconnect these articles with anchors.
This will increase the number of pageviews per visit and will eventually win the confidence of google. This recipe applies to all other article farms as well.
