Google Nexus S Review
Nexus S is the latest Android mobile phone from Google. This phone can work in Quad band GSM frequencies 850, 900, 1800 and 1900. Tri band HSPA frequencies 900, 2100 and 1700. The HSPA types supported by this phone are HSDPA which supports up to a maximum of 7.2 mega bits per second and HSUPA which supports to a maximum speed of 5.76 mega bits per second. This has inbuilt wi fi connectivity which can support wireless standards IEEE 802.11 b, g and n. There is Bluetooth connectivity also, the version of Bluetooth supported by this phone is 2.1.
The features like Near field communication and assisted Global positioning system are supported in Google Nexus S. There is also USB connectivity offered to the user via the micro USB 2.0. The display of this phone measures 4 inches, and can display a screen resolution of 480 X 800 pixels. 235 pixels per inch is the pixel depth supported by this phone, there is anti fingerprint display coating that is giving to the display to avoid forming of fingerprint impressions on the display. The display is built using the super AMOLED thus it provides unmatched displaying capabilities. The hardware has equal number of features as the software does, the following are the few of the hardware features supported in this phone proximity sensor, light sensor, digital compass and three axis gyroscope.
Nexus S phone’s processor works at a clock frequency of 1 Giga Hertz, the type of the processor is hummingbird processor or Cortex A8 processor. This also has a 16 Giga bytes of internal memory formed using iNAND flash memory. There is a 5 mega pixel resolution still camera available in this mobile phone, the video resolution offered by this camera is 720 X 480 pixels. There is High definition recording supported in this as there are supports available for H.264, MPEG4 and H.263 type video recording. There is auto focus feature along with flash light is available in this mobile phone.
There is also a front facing camera available which is VGA type one which can offer 640 X 480 pixel still images. In Nexus S there is support in the software for the noise cancellation thus it makes this ultimate medium for noise free communication. The talk time provided by this phone while using 3G features is about 6.7 hours and the talk time almost doubles when used in 2G scenario as it rakes up to 14 hours. The standby time on 3 G network is up to 17.8 days whereas in 2G network it is even more as it is up to 29.7 days. The battery used is Lithium Ion rechargeable type batteries. There are many softwares supported on this phone from Google few of them are the following, Android 2.3 which is commonly known as Gingerbird, android market, google talk and youtube.
