Another budget laptop is unveiled by the computer giant HP as HPG62-435DX and this notebook is priced at just $400. This is a a relatively modest performance  machine at that lowest price and powered through AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mobile Processor P540. This processor’s lower memory latency can offer significant performance benefits for the machine. Also, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 graphics card joined with this processor to offer ultimate multimedia experience for a buyer ( though not an ultimate gaming experience). It has decent battery backup, webcam, optical drive, HDMI output and many more. All these features at an unbelievable lowest price would be definitely an assortment for a buyer. There is no point in waiting for the further low cost budget laptop and this is the best one for all. Importantly this processor is making this machine low power consuming device through its TDP rating of 25watts.

AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mobile Processor P540 Details:

This laptop is arranged with AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mobile Processor P540. This processor is a dual-core developed basing on the similar architecture of desktop Athlon II CPUs. This processor is clocked at 2.4GHz. This processor communicates with the chipset through the high speed differential Hyper Transport Bus.  This processor’s two cores are integrated well with DDR3 memory controller and this is offering perfect performance to the processor. This integration is the major reason to keep the AMD Turion ii P540 special over the other similarly clocked Intel Core 2 processors. The major positive factor with this integration is its lower memory latency which will improve the performance of the processor. This laptop is powered through AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mobile Processor P540. this processor is clocked at 2.4GHz. It is a 64-bit dual-core processor with 2MB capacity L2 Cache. Its TDP rating 25watts will make the machine to consume less power which can ultimately offer huge battery life for the notebook.

System Memory and hard drive:

System memory of HP G62-435DX  is 4GB DDR3 RAM. There is a possibility to enhance this RAM up to 8GB successfully.

Hard drive of this laptop is 320GB Serial ATA drive which rotates at 5400 rpm.

The screen size of this laptop is 15.6-inches with 1366 x 768 pixels resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. The display type is LED HD along with HP BrightView technology. This display can support 720p HD content too.

This laptop got a 101-key compatible full size keyboard for easy typing needs. There is One Touch launch keys and action keys too for easy accessing. Touch pad is arranged as the pointing device with this laptop. This touch pad is integrated with ON/OFF button and two way scroll pad support.


This laptop is arranged with one 6-cell Lithium-ion battery. This battery pack offers 4.25-hours unplugged power for the notebook.

HP G62-435DX  comes with three USB 2.0 ports, one HDMI port, one VGA port, one 5-in-1 integrated digital media reader, one headphone jack and one microphone jack.

    I picked mine up today been playing with all day after getting all my wireless networking done it works great for what i need it to do. I am very happy and a great price to boot. I would check it out if you are looking for a good basic laptop.
