Battery Life

Under normal surfing conditions, this notebook will last 2 hours and 15 minutes with video playback. This is normal with a 18.4 inch LCD display and the 8 cell Li Ion battery.

HDX18 has a Big and Wide display. There are very few laptops that come with 18 inch diagonal screen size. This HP Notebook comes with 18.4 inch laptop and on the top of it has a wide aspect ratio of 16:9. This is perfect if you want to see a movie. Most notebooks have 16:10 aspect ratio. If you watch a movie on a normal screen, you will find a blank on the top of and bottom of the screen. This affectively means that a portion of the LCD screen stands unutilized. Mathematically speaking 10% of the area of normal display is unutilized when watching movie.
