HP Pavilion DV6 3013nr Laptop Review

One of prominent names in the field of computers, Hewlett-Packard, is also one of the leading suppliers of notebooks worldwide making a mark with is Pavilion series. Promoted as an entertainment notebook PC, the HP Pavilion DV6-3013nr very well suits the needs of SOHO or Small Office Home Office user and more.

The entire package is embodied in a polished and brushed up aluminium casing giving it quite prominent looks. Like they say good things come in small package and the HP DV6-3013nr very well justifies the same. Under the glossy body the DV6-3013nr is empowered with AMD’s Phenom II Triple-Core processor, N830 and leveraging 1.5 MB of level 2 cache memory. The notebook PC is reinforced with 4GB of DDR3 memory as 2 DIMMs or Dual In-Line Memory Modules. The main memory can be extended upto 8GB at the maximum when desired to execute extreme high end applications. So much for the scaling up capacity of the notebook PC, its default configuration is quite adequate to deliver the performance for entertainment and other office productivity applications. This base system is complemented by an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 graphics card to process that high resolution stunning graphics and display them on HP BrightView LED display having a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. A 320 GB hard disk drive spinning at 7200 rpm is just enough to store all those resolution pictures and other associated data. An island styled keyboard provides the ease to punch in the details in addition to HP’s ClickPad for the pointing device with on/off facility.

The peripherals list also has a considerable count. This being classified as an entertainment notebook PC, the Pavilion DV6-3013nr rises up to the mark to provide the full gamut of entertainment. To complement the sharp LED display, it is embedded with Altec Lansing speakers for that listening pleasure further enhanced by Dolby Advanced Audio. In addition to the 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet port, it is also engraved with a VGA port, USB 2.0 (4 nos) ports of which, one is shared with eSATA connection. For wireless connectivity it is loaded with 802.11b/g/n, a 5-in-1 Digital Media Reader to read/write to SD cards, multimedia cards and sticks, xD picture cards, etc. and a HDMI port to connect to other devices. And to safely store, the not so frequently used but important data, a LightScribe equipped 8X SuperMulti DVD±R/RW with Double Layer Support. On the security front, the HP Pavilion DV6-3013nr is inscribed with a Kensington MicroSave lock slot also suitable to third party locking devices. To keep the applications and entertainment going, it is powered with a 6-cell Lithium-Ion battery pack.

The HP Pavilion DV6-3013nr package is additionally stacked with a HP TrueVision Webcam having integrated digital microphone for that exclusive video chatting with kith and kin. To deter any unwanted access to the notebook it is equipped with SimplePass having an integrated fingerprint reader.

The HP Pavilion DV6-3013nr will come pre-installed with 64-bit Windows 7 Home giving an impetus to get started immediately with your assignments. Apart from the various trial versions of productivity software it has a whole set of fully functional multimedia software. And it’s an absolute steal at a price less than $600.
