HP Pavilion dv7-4272us  is powered by AMD’s triple-Core  P860 processor clocked at 2.0 GHz. It has a large 17.3 inch LCD screen and comes with 4 GB RAM and a big 750 GB of hard disk. Available recently at just under $800 at staples, the Pavilion dv7-4272us is one of the best deal notebooks available, for a moderate to high end computing.

Let us take a look at the individual components of the Pavilion dv7-4272us.

Processor

The AMD’s Phenom ii P860 is a triple core processor that powers the HP  dv7-4272us  is clocked at 2.0 GHz. You can expect a decent performance level with this processor for all of your home and office computing needs. The Phenom ii P860 has an L2 Cache of 1.5 MB ( 512 KB for each of the three cores). While it has no L3 Cache, the fast integrated memory controller partly makes up for the missing L3 Cache. The performance of the processor is especially good in multi threading environment, as it has three cores.

RAM and Hard Disk

The Pavilion dv7-4272us has 4 GB of RAM and comes with a large 750 GB of hard disk.

Display

The HP Pavilion dv7-4272us has a large 17.3 inch LCD which give out bright display. The graphics is powered by AMD Radeon HD 6370 switchable graphics. The display has a resolution of 1600 x 900 and its background is LED backlit, one reason why the display is brighter. The notebook comes with an HDMI connector that you can use to display the contents on an external LCD monitor or a projector.

Other Features

Pavilion dv7-4272us comes with wired and wireless networking feature as do most other notebooks that come today. The integrated webcam can be used for chatting with friends and family. The Pavilion dv7-4272us also comes with 5-in-1 integrated Digital Media Reader, that you can use to read the contents of the digital camera by taking the SD / MMC card out from the camera and inserting it into the notebook. The Blu Ray ROM could turn the notebook into an entertainment power house, allowing you to watch Blu Ray Disk, on laptop or on an external HDTV using the hdmi connection.

The specification of the notebook lists over 7 hour of battery life with its 9 cell Lithium Ion battery. This is one of the highest we have seen in a high end notebook. This is made possible partly by the power efficient Phenom processor from AMD.
