The HP Pavilion dv7-4273us is 17.3″ notebook, powered by AMD’s Phenom ii P960 – a quad core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz. The Pavilion dv7-4273us comes with a large 6 GB memory and 640 GB of hard disk. Its other notable feature include the support for the HDMI and AMD Radeon HD 6370 switchable graphics.

he AMD’s Phenom ii P960 is quad core processor from AMD clocked at 1.8 GHz. The Phenom II P960 has integrated memory controller, which reduces the memory latency and improves the overall performance of the processor. The Phenom II P960 a total of 2 MB of L2 cache – 512 KB in each of the 4 cores. The L1 Cache consists of 64 KB of instruction and 64 KB of data cache for each of the 4 cores.

Though we do not have much benchmarking data, we speculate that its performance should be similar to the low and medium clocked Intel’s dual core i3 processor ( The Intel core i3-370M is, for example clocked at 2.40 GHz and should have similar performance.

Display and Graphics

The large 17.3″ screen of the HP Pavilion dv7-4273us is one of the compelling reasons why you would like to buy this notebook. The display has a resolution of 1600 x 900. The display is driven by the AMD Radeon HD 6370 graphics.

The demanding games like Call of Duty, Black Ops, should be playable in low resolution with the AMD Radeon HD 6370. The less demanding games like e Fifa 11 or the Sims 3 should also be playable in medium settings.

    I love this computer. I escpecially love the fingerprint sensor. It takes all the worry and hassle out of knowing your different passwords for different websites. Just one stroke of your fingerprint and your logged in. Excellent.

    I also like this computer. since i got it almost brand new at half the retail price, i spent a few dollars upgrading it. added a 1tb hdd in the additional hdd bay, upgraded the ram to 8gb and replaced the phenom ll p960 1.8ghz processor with a phenom ll n970 2.2ghz one. works very fast. also like the bright screen. wish it didn’t have a whitelist or i would have upgraded the wifi card as well. give it an A+.
