HP Pavilion P6714Y Desktop PC Review

HP Pavilion series desktop PCs are already gained huge attention from everyone. These desktops are famous for the powerful performance along with latest features. These pavilion series desktops are also famous for their inexpensive price too. This time there is another pavilion series desktop PC credited to this category as HP pavilion P6714Y.

This desktop has every essential feature that a buyer is looking for and satiates well to all the desktop needs perfectly. This desktop is a recent addition to pavilion series and unveiled on 27th December, 2010. Motherboard of this desktop is M2N68-LA (Narra5) and powered through AMD Athlon II X4 640 Processor. Latest integrated graphics through NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE is making this desktop quite suitable for gaming and other entertainment needs too. This desktop got 4GB DDR3 RAM and integrated Realtek ALC 888S audio for the decent sound quality. All these features and powers are indicating pretty reliable performance from this latest pavilion series desktop PC.


Mother Board of HP Pavilion P6714Y  desktop is M2N68-LA (Narra5), which is a product from Pegatron. This mother board form factor is microATX-24.4cm x 24.4 cm. Its front side bus speed is 2000MT/s with a processor socket of AM2.


The processor of this desktop is AMD Athlon II X4 640. This processor is clocked at 3.0 GHz with total four cores. Socket of this processor is AM3 and Bus speed is 4000MHz.

Video Graphics:

HP Pavilion P6714Y  comes with an integrated graphics facility through NVIDIA Ge Force 6150SE. Also, there is a possibility to have PCI Express x16 graphic card too. But, you can have either of the facility at one time only.


This desktop is arranged with an integrated sound card that has 6 channels in it. This sound card can support SPDIF digital too with a maximum sample rate up to 192,000Hz.


HP Pavilion P6714Y  is arranged with 10-Base-T LAN and its interface is Realtek RTL8201N. Its data transfer speed is up to 10/100 Mbps. Its transmission standards are 10-Base-T Ethernet.

Hard drive:

Hard drive of this desktop is 1 TB and this is a SATA drive. The transfer rate of this hard drive is 3.0Gbps and spins at 7200rpm.

Optical drive:

This desktop comes with a SuperMulti DVD burner with LightScribe technology.

Card reader:

This desktop is arranged with one 15-in-1 multimedia card reader.


The case of HP Pavilion P6714Y  is Mid-Size ATX.

This desktop needs 250W power supply.

I/O Ports:

This desktop comes with two USB ports, one microphone jack and one headphone jack as front I/O ports.

There are PS/2 mouse port, PS/2 keyboard port, Video Graphics adapter, four USB 2.0 ports, RJ 45 jack, Line In port, Line Out Port and one microphone port as Back I/O ports.

Input Devices:

This desktop PC is arranged with one HP USB keyboard and one HP USB optical mouse as input devices.


This desktop PC comes with one Genuine Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition, HP Media Smart maker, Windows DVD Maker, CyberLink DVD Suite, HP Games, HP MediaSmart Software Suit, Windows Live Essentials, PDF Complete Special Edition and some more.
