HP Slate 500 Review

Finally, HP released its much anticipated Tablet PC  HP Slate 500 which comes with a hefty price tag of $799. Let us see if the price of $799 for this device is justified or not.

Specs of HP Slate 500

HP Slate 500 is powered by Intel Atom Z560 processor. It is single core processor, processes task at the speed of 1.86GHz. Though the processor comes with single core but it is supported by hyperthreading technology. So you will get enhanced performance compare to ordinary single core processor. It has only L2 cache memory of 512KB.

When comes to memory, the HP 500 tablet pc comes with 2GB DDR2 memory. Now one thing consumer should keep in mind that memory is onboard memory and you can’t increase it.

The 8.9” WSVGA display of the HP 500 Slate PC comes with touchscreen feature. It also offer wide-viewing angles.

HP Slate 500 boast Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 500 as graphic cards which is supported with Broadcom Crystal HD Enhanced Video Accelerator. No doubt it is an impressive feature.

When comes to storage, the all new HP 500 tablet comes with Solid State Flash Module as storage device and the storage limit is 64GB

When comes to ports and connectivity, the device comes with one 2.0 USB port, headphone, mic combo jack and power connecter. However one can communicate with other with integrated mic and 3 MP camera.

The user interface of the device is HP Slate Digital Pen.

HP slate 500 comes with both wireless and Bluetooth support. The wireless feature is supported by Integrated 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0. In some model HP offers external USB DVD writer

The 2 cell polymer battery provides 5 hours of battery life.

When we review a tablet or netbook, the weight of the device is always matter of concern because it is mostly used by mobile folks. Here is no exception as well. HP slate 500 tablet PC weighs 1.5 lbs which is initial weight, when comes to size it comes with dimension of 9.21 x 0.58 x 5.91.

The device is energy star certified
