Intel Atom N475 Processor Review ( 1.83 GHz)

Intel Atom N475 is a single core processor. It is recent addition from Intel. Like it predecessor, the Atom N475 processor also used in netbook, small laptops and entry level notebooks. The processor works with clock speed of 1.83GHz. It has only 512KB L2 cache. Following are the detail specification of Intel Atom N475 processor. The code name of the processor is Pineview.

Intel Atom processor N475 fabricated with 45 nm lithography technology and Instruction set is 64 bit. Embedded options are disabled for the Intel N475 Atom processor. The instruction set extensions are SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3. The bus core ratio is 11. The size of the die of the processor is 66mm square and the die comprises of 123 million transistors. The processor packed in FCBGA559 socket.

Intel Atom N475 comes with Integrated memory controller which is single channel memory controller which connects processor to memory. The processor supports both DDR2 and DDR3 memory and maximum memory supported by the processor is 2GB. There is graphics controller as well to connect the processor with integrated graphics. The graphics doesn’t support HD content. The base frequency of the graphics controller is 200 MHz.

The main difference between Intel Atom N470 and Intel Atom processor N475 is Intel Atom N470 supports only DDR2 RAM while Intel N475 supports both DDR2 and DDR3 RAM.

The TDP or Thermal design power of Intel Atom N475 1.83 GHz processor is 6.5 watt which indicates that the processor is energy efficient processor. The processor can work up to 100 °C temprature. Few advance technologies like Intel Hyperthreading, Intel 64bit and Execute disable bits are incorporated in the processor. Other technologies like turboboost technology for over clocking cores and Virtualization are not available with Intel Atom processor N475.

    hello sir i have purchased toshiba notebook[intel atom cpu n475 @1.83ghz]. but its processing is very low.it has 1gb ram.can i replace ram 1gb to 2gb and will be increase its speed?

    my may 2011 samsung netbook n150plus use n475 atom, if i go to device manager, it shows
    2 processors,

    mine too… i looked @ the intel it has only 1core. but in task manager. its shows 2. how is it??
