Both are dual core processors. While the core i3-380UM is clocked at 1.33 GHz, the core i3-380M is clocked at 2.53 GHz. Obviously, if processing power is your main concern core i3-380M is a better choice. If mobility is your main concern, look core i3-380UM based notebooks
