Intel Core i7-2677M is latest processor and comes under the Sandy Bridge chips category that belongs to the ULV processor series.  This is a powerful and efficient Ultra Low Voltage processor exclusively designed for light and thin laptops.  This processor is very well enabled with Turbo Boost technology 2.0 in it for over clocking its base frequency from 1.7 GHz to 2.8 GHz successfully. It will be at 2.5GHz frequency, when both cores of the processor are loaded. This over clocking facility for the processor is mainly dependent on the power consumption and cooling conditions of the laptop. There is another special feature in it as Hyper-Threading, which will enable to handle 4 threads in parallel for the processor.

Actually, this Sandy Bridge is the successor for the famous Arrandale architecture. The major improvement with its predecessor is its Turbo Boost 2.0 technology and graphics card integration within 32nm CPU Core. This processor announced on 27th June, 2011.

If there is no Turbo Boost 2.0 technology with this processor, than it will be as same as Core i3-2330M processor. However, this Turbo Boost 2.0 performance and support can be accountable basing on the laptop cooling conditions.
