Intel Pentium E6800 Processor
Intel Pentium E6800 Processor is the new processor from Intel which is launched in the current quarter of 2010. This processor is currently available in the market, the processor number or the model number is E6800. This is a dual core processor, each processor is cable of handling one thread and the processor can handle two threads at any given instance of time. Intel Pentium E6800 Processor’s clocking frequency is 3.33 Giga Hertz, this also has the Intel smart cache memory of 2048 Kilo bytes of which 1024 Kilo bytes will be used by each core. In this processor Intel achieved the lowest bus to core ratio which is 12.5. The FSB alias Front Side Bus operates at an amazing speed of 1066 Mega Hertz, which is the operating speed of some processors itself.
The instruction set is of the data width is 64 bit. The instruction set extensions supported in Pentium E6800 are SSE 2, SSE 3 and SSSE 3. 45 nano meter is the lithography technology which is used for manufacturing of Intel Pentium E6800 Processor. The maximum Thermal Design Power is 65 watts, which is high compared to the other available processors. The Voltage Identification Range of voltage in this processor is a minimum of 0.8500V and up to 1.3625V.
Intel Pentium E6800 doesn’t have any embedded options or integrated graphics support. The die processing area if 82 square millimeters. Intel Pentium E6800 Processor supports only LGA775 type of sockets. The package size is 37.5 millimeters x 37.5 millimeters. Intel Pentium E6800 Processor doesn’t have most of the advanced technologies supported in it, Intel Virtualization technology, Intel 64 bit computing, Idle states, Enhanced Intel Stepspeed Technology, Thermal monitoring technology and Execute Disable bit are the only advanced technologies supported in this processor.
The Intel 64 bit computing provides the user as big as 4 GB as the virtual memory and thus boost the performance of the processor. This processor supports all the available graphics cards that are available in the market. However Intel E6800 pentium processor is not suitable for low power and ultra low power notebooks.
The Intel hardware Virtualization technology provides an abstraction for the underlying hardware to the applications running on top of it thus allows the user to run a hassle free range of different applications and operating systems on the same hardware. Intel demand based switching technology, which is a technology used for effective power management. This technology keeps the voltage and clock speed of the processor to a minimum value thus provides maximum performance, this technology is not implemented in Intel Pentium E6800 Processor.
