Gatlinburg offers many romantic places to get married, even to renew your vows, such as local churches and chapels, chalet hideaways, and secluded hotels. It is known as the wedding capital of the South and is home to over twenty unique chapels from the traditional white chapel to a log chapel.   Everything you need to make your day special can be found in Gatlinburg, which include florists, photographers, limo services, dress shops and tuxedo rentals, and caterers.  There are first class quality chapels that charge reasonable rates.

If you are concerned about Tennessee marriage laws such as blood tests and waiting periods.  Tennessee has made it easy for those couples who want to renew their vows or decide to get married on the spur of the moment by having a no waiting period or required blood tests.  This makes it easy to go to Gatlinburg on a weekend to get married and have a wonderful honeymoon in a romantic cabin snuggled in the Smoky Mountains.

What they do require is for you to purchase a license and be eighteen years of age or older.  Make sure that you have some form of ID to prove your age.  The Chamber of Commerce will give you the location as to where you can obtain your marriage license six days a week.  You can even fill out a pre-application marriage license online.

There are so many settings that you can choose for your wedding, such as in the beauty of the glorious mountains, rushing streams, cascading waterfalls,  a candle light ceremony, or a serene forest setting.  You can choose from naturally simple to traditional and anything in between.  The various wedding chapels offer garden, waterfall or gazebo settings.  You can even get married in your honeymoon cabin or chalet.  Any of these perfect outdoor settings are perfect for small to large weddings.  Some of the chapels are quite small and can only handle a small wedding party.  This wedding party would consist of the bride, groom, two attendants and the clergyman.  If there are more to the wedding party they may have to stand outside the chapel to listen to the wedding ceremony.
