The bulldozer processors will take on Second Generation Core ix ( Core i3, core i5 and core i7) – the Sandy Bridge processors.

The 8-core FX-8110 processor based on the “Bulldozer” high-performance CPU architecture is going to be 50% higher performance than the Intel Core i7-950 (4 cores, 8 threads) and also against Phenom II X6 1100T (6 cores).
In a month we will be clear of more figures as AMD finalizes the clock frequency at which it will be shipping the product.
The immediate response from Intel seems to be bump up the Sandy Bridge clock to 4 GHz and beyond. It will be an interesting fight.
All Intel has to do is bump up the Sandy Bridge frequencies to counter the bulldozer. In the meantime wait for the Ivy Bridge and the newer 22 nm technology to be launched by Intel.
These processors are only for the Desktop / Server. Will we also see Notebook processors based on the bulldozer architecture ?
