Mitsubishi WD-60638 60″ Class DLP HDTV is the new High definition television from Mitsubishi the leading Japanese multinational and global leader. This television costs 630 dollars and this television is built by using DLP which is short form of Digital Light Processing, this technology is more often used in projectors rather than in televisions. But Mitsubishi WD-60638 60″ Class DLP HD Television uses DLP technology for displaying which makes the picture produced clear and does have an amazing quality. The DLP technology used is rear projection technology and this DLP technology is created by Texas Instruments.

The screen size of the Mitsubishi WD-60638 60″ Class DLP HD Television is 60 inches, when measured diagonally. This television is 3D compatible, this allows the user to setup a 3D theater in his living room and also he needs the 3D glasses for getting the actual feeling of the 3D content screened. This television uses the 6 color processor and also CEC deep color technologies in place which takes care of showing good natural color of the video content on the television. The maximum video resolution supported by this television is of the order 1080 pixels. There are inbuilt speakers that are integrated with the television each of power 10 watts and thus the television produces 20 watts of sound together.

One of the HDMI port is available on the sides of the television and other two HDMI ports are present at the rear end of the television. There are two combined component / composite video ports that are available in this television. There is a RF or Radio Frequency input port also like what is there in the old SD televisions. There is a digital audio output that is available through coaxial cables. This allows the user to get digital audio along with the digital video providing the enhanced.

There are five picture format mode with aspect ratio of 4 : 3 that is supported in ¬†Mitsubishi WD-60638 60″ Class DLP HDTV along with 3 picture format mode with 16 : 9 aspect ratio is supported. There are other modes also of which game mode is one which everyone will be interested in. Playing games on a 60 inch television is going to be an awesome experience to anyone. The screen refreshing rate is 60 hertz and also the power consumption in normal and standby mode are 212 watts and 0.5 watt respectively. Since the power consumption on normal mode is a towering 212 watts this does not meet energy star requirements. There are no Ethernet ports or even USB ports that are supported by this television, so there is no way one can use this as anything more than a television
