Ralph Lauren 2011 Spring Collection
Ralph Lauren has decided to take a small step back in history to when cowboys were part of American history. In Ralph Lauren’s case, it is cowgirls. His spring collection consists of large belt buckles and leather skirts and jackets. Looking at his 2011spring collection, some of the outfits are hideous looking. They have paired the belt with an evening gown making the outfit not only look ridiculous but also has the appearance of something that was just thrown together at the last minute. If this is not the case, then maybe she is wearing the belt as something symbolic for her husband or boyfriend who just starred in a western.
It was bad enough to ruin an evening dress with the huge belt buckle but the designers has a model wearing a slinky silver dress with two inches of lace on the bottom, which makes the dress look like a slip. She is wearing strapped heels, a brown suede jacket with a little fringe on the front two corners. Around her neck, she is wearing a choker made of the same material as the jacket.
The Ralph Lauren 2011 spring collection does have at least one outfit that keeps the whole collection from being one that should not have gotten off the drawing board. It is a tan pantsuit with a light brown blouse underneath the long sleeve jacket. On the lapels, there are pieces of the brown suede/leather that is the material of most of his collection. She is wearing a nice pair of shoes with a medium heel.
Since Ralph Lauren lives on a huge ranch in Colorado, it appears that he did not look beyond his front porch to get ideas for his spring 2011 collection. The collection does include a very nice fitted suede jacket and cute hand-knit white skirts. Some of the accessories include Navajo-rug tote bags, and of course, brown leather belts of every conceivable size with the huge belt buckle.
The Wild Wild West, American prairies, Navajo design, and conquering new frontiers inspired the spring 2011 collection. There are people that go for the unusual in clothing and this spring collection will satisfy that need.
