I bought two Samsung BD-C6800 Blu-Ray CD players in December 2010 in order to use their networking ability to watch movies from Netflix. When these units feel like connecting to my wireless network, they work fine. This is the problem. Most of the time, they will either be unable to connect with my wireless network or give up connection during the movie watching period. Occasionally, they will acquire the wireless network and maintain oonnection throughout the movie duration. But, not nearly often enough.
So, I have spent approximately 30 hours attempting to identify and repair this network connection problem. I got online with their live chat folks about 4 or 5 times. Nothing they suggested improved my problem, whatsoever. Finally, today, I talked to a live person on their tech support phone line. At her suggestion, we attempted a couple of different approaches to solving the problem (all of which I had already attempted several times.) Naturally, nothing really solved my problem. So, she concluded there was nothing I could do to repair the problem. The units would have to be returned for repair.
As I had already learned from COSTCO, I could return them for a full refund, I told her no thanks.
So, I am on my way to COSTCO to return both these defective units.
I own two SAMSUNG tv sets which I am quite pleased with. I am very surprised and hugely disappointed that SAMSUNG is selling the BD-C6800 Blu-Ray disc players with a known wireless connection problem!!
