Processor

Intel Pentium P6200 that powers the Sony Vaio VPCEB4E1E/WI is a dual core processor clocked at 2.13 GHz. It has basically the same architecture that Intel’s Arrandale core i3 processor had but with Hyperthreading disabled. You get some of the advantages of the Arrandale architecture, including the 3 MB of Intel Smart cache and the integrated memory controller. You can expect decent performance. The Intel’s core i3-330M is also clocked at 2.13 MHz. So on the performance level, you should expect slightly less performance as compared to the core i3-330M. Many newer laptops are also coming with intel’s Core i3-370M and Core i3-380M ( dual core 2.53 GHz). You will notice that these have substantial performance improvement over the Pentium P6200. So, if you can get any notebook with similar price and Core i3-370M or i3-380M, you may like to choose thes.

The only additional reason to buy the Sony VPCEB4E1E/WI is its brand reliability. The notebook comes with decent keyboards, that are hall mark of Sony’s quality. The mechanical structure is rigid and strong. Sony’s notebooks are less likely to fail because of the lack of the electrical quality tests. And the price you will be paying is extra £50 or £100. The choice is yours.
