Toshiba Satellite L655-S5149WH has essentially the same specification as the Toshiba Satellite L655-S5149, and the only difference is in the color. As you may have guessed, the subscript WH in the part number Toshiba Satellite L655-S5149WH denotes the white color. The Toshiba Satellite L655-S5149 comes in black color. Both the parts have the same MSRP of $607 according to Toshiba.

The Toshiba Satellite L655-S5149WH is a 15.6 inch notebook powered by Intel Pentium P6200 ( 2.13 GHz dual core , 3 MB L3 Cache ). It comes with 4 GB of RAM and 500 GB of Hard disk. Its other notable feature include the HDMI port that you can use to display the content on LCD HDTV. The Toshiba Satellite L655-S5149WH has a decent 5+ hour of battery life.

As part of the Toshiba Satellite L655-S5149WH Review we present you the most notable features of this notebook extracted from Toshiba specifications. Here is goes

– Intel Pentium P6200, 2.13 GHz, dual core, 3 MB L3 Cache, no hyperthreading
– 4 GB RAM, 500 GB Hard Disk
– 15.6 inch screen with 1366 x 768 resolution, HDMI output
– 2 USB 2.0 connectors, on USB/eSATA combo connector
– Integrated webcam
– Wired and Wireless Internet connectivity
– Media Card Reader
– DVD writer

The notebook has everything, that you will expect in an entry level notebook. The only potential missing thing you could complain of is the Blu Ray ROM. The notebook also comes with Blu Ray player ROM (Thanks Herman for pointing this out). This is something that usually comes  in moderate to high end computing machine. Also this machine will not be able to play high end games at higher resolution, limited by the Intel HD Graphics that comes integrated with the P6200 processor.

A note on the processing power and what to expect with Pentium P6200 – The Pentium P6200, that powers the Toshiba Satellite L655-S5149WH is an entry level processor that gets decent performance as it inherits some of the impressive architectural advantages of Arrandale architecture, the same architecture that powers the Intel core i3 processors. It does not has the hyperthreading that core i3 processors come with, but, it has integrated memory controller, the large 3 MB L3 Cache memory. The processor is good for the home and office computing, but, if you need more processing power, you may like to take a look at core i3 and core i5 based processors.

Toshiba specs at the above URL say this model does indeed come with a “Blu-ray Disc™ ROM”. Despite this model only being available at Walmart.com, it’s a great deal!!
