What processor is used in LG Optimus LG540 phone

Question - What processor is used in LG Optimus LG540 phone ?

Answer - The LG Optimus LG540 uses Qualcomm MSM7227 processor that runs at 600 MHz. The processor is based upon the ARM’s ARM1136EJ-S core and you should expect a moderate performance. The LG Optimus LG540, for example, gives out 17 fps for video recording, which falls slightly short of the magic figure of 30 fps required for the smooth video processing.

Other than the video capture and video processing the MSM7227 processor processor adequately addresses all the requirements expected from a mid level smart phone, including, Video Display, GPS, mp3 recording and display, web browsing and others.

Just look out for the LG Optimus 2x – with the Cortex A9 dual core ( 1 GHz), its speed will just blow your mind away. It HDMI output and you can record and play HD movies on it.

    LG Fan,

The processor used in the LG Optimus 2x is actually a Tegra 2 processor. The two Cortex A9 core are just one part of it. It has a graphics core that makes it powerful for display.

Freescale’s MX6 processor ( based upon Cortex A9) should be next big thing in the ARM processors. They will have quad core and dual core processor and will have decent performance.

Of course, nVidia seems to have taken the lead and their Tegra 3 processor with integrated graphics can give even Intel and AMD a run for money in low power segments ( If microsoft supports ARM )
